About Us

English as a Second Language

The California School of Health Sciences (CSHS) is a leader in providing continuing education classes, test preparation services, professional development, and academic advising for adult students on a national and international level. CSHS was founded in 1998 by a group of healthcare professionals with extensive clinical and inter-cultural experiences. Bridging the need for English instruction, CSHS has expanded their educational services to include an extensive academic English language program.

Our Mission

As an accredited institution, CSHS’s mission is to provide quality-oriented educational programs that increase students’ knowledge, improve their skills, and foster critical thinking in an efficient, timely, and economical manner. While ensuring that its students are adequately prepared to transition to the professional field or academic institution of their choice, CSHS also strives to support hospitals, schools, and other healthcare facilities in California and throughout the world, by means of best-based and evidence-based practice, results-oriented training, and standardized academic development.

The Benefits of Studying English at CSHS ESL

  • SMALL CLASSESGenerally, we have 8-15 students per class, as opposed to 20+ students per class, which is often the case of ESL programs at community colleges or universities.
  • LEVELS DETERMINED BY SUBJECT AREAWe have 6 levels (5 ESL levels and TOEFL) and a variety of ESL courses to choose from. We are committed to opening a class with even as few as three (3) student registrations.
  • CONDITIONAL AGREEMENTS WITH AREA COLLEGESWe have articulation agreements with many colleges. Upon completion of the CEP ESL program, students are accepted to colleges and universities in place of the TOEFL or other required standardized English proficiency tests.
  • TOP RATED FACULTYWe conduct teacher evaluations every term for quality control of our faculty. CEP instructors hold college degrees and have extensive experience teaching English as a Second Language.
  • GREAT SERVICEOur school specializes in catering to academically focused international students and we have less students per administrator ratio so that we can better cater to the needs of our students.
